Platinum End Synopsis
In Platinum End, we follow the story of Mirai Kakehashi, a gloomy middle school student. Since his parents died, he has lost all faith in life. He then goes to live with his uncle and aunt, who will exploit him and push him into an increasingly precarious situation. The idea of suicide will even tempt him for a moment in order to escape this life filled with suffering.
One day he decides to take action, but he will be saved at the last minute by Nasse, a guardian angel. However, the latter differs from the idea that we have of angels, since he will reveal many truths about his host family.
He will also offer some very precious powers to Mirai: a wing that allows him to travel wherever he sees fit, a red arrow that makes a person fall in love with him for 33 days as well as a white arrow that “sleeps” a person eternally.
Like Death Note, the hero as well as the reader can wonder about this new situation, this recent force and the choices to be made.
We later learn in the manga that Mirai is not the only person to have acquired those powers. In total, 12 other persons are in the same situation and will have to fight to replace God within 999 days.
Our protagonist does not even have the choice to refuse his powers, since if he makes this decision, the Angel’s rescue in extremis will be canceled and he will die by his suicide. As you can imagine, the 13 individuals who have powers will not become friends and will then compete to become the main candidate for the election of God…
Platinum End mixes moments of supernatural, an exciting confrontation between the camps of the characters, and a constant psychological analysis of the different patterns of society. A good reflection that obviously concerns the current Japanese society, but which can be the mirror of a certain number of world trends.

Platinum End anime release date
The Platinum End anime release date has been announced for the fall season of 2021. The first episode will be broadcasted in October 2021. All the other projects of the season can be found in our list of anime that will be coming in fall 2021.
The main details were announced on July 1, 2021. We will have to wait a few more weeks in order to have more information.
What we do know, however, is that the manga is already finished and there is in total 14 volumes that will be adapted into 24 episodes. So, it’s obvious that we won’t have a season 2 of Platinum End.
Platinum End Trailer
Here is a 30-second video which presents certain colored images of the manga and the first image of the anime. We understand, however, that the latter will be really faithful, whether in the graphic style or in the scenes that will be adapted. There will really be no gap between the manga Platinum End and its eponymous anime.
The first official Platinum End trailer aired on July 1, 2021. We discover the first images of the anime, with the voices of the main actors of this fight which will oppose the holders of powers. The scene of the rescue in extremis by the angel is shown in particular after 17 seconds. We then see the pact that will be made between the latter and our protagonist.
Regarding the quality of the animation, everything seems to be on point. The movements are fluid, the exterior decorations are very well done. It will obviously be necessary to wait for the first episodes to have a real sample, but what we discover here is encouraging. There is a good chance that more small trailer videos will be released by October. We will update this post by adding them below.
Platinum End Visual
Below, check out the official Platinum End Key Visual. We immediately recognize our main protagonist “Mirai” as well as one of his powers and the angel who saved his life.
The background is not insignificant, since most of the manga and the story takes place in an urban setting in Tokyo, and that the theme of blending into the crowd becomes increasingly important as he approaches other people with powers.
The second Platinum End poster is very self-explanatory. We see more characters: Mirai in the center but also the rest of the power users at the bottom of the image.
