Fujita, the author of the Comedy/Romance manga Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii (English Title: Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku), announced on her Twitter on Friday that “Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii” will end on July 16, 2021.
Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku, serialized in Comic POOL magazine since Apr 30, 2015, will end with its 60th chapter.
Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii: Synopsis
The story follows the awkward romantic comedy between “otaku” office workers, one of whom, Narumi Momose, is a stern fujoshi who somehow tries to hide her passions from others while her partner, Hirotaka Nifuji, is a handsome and competent man addicted to video games who only let’s go of his console to work. If they seem perfect for each other, love is still complicated for the otakus.
Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii: New OVA announced
Ichijinsha, the anime producer of the first season of the anime adaptation of “It’s Difficult to Love an Otaku”, revealed a new original video animation (OVA) and its corresponding visual for the series.
This new OVA will be aired on the 4th of October, 2021 and will adapt the “employee trip” chapter(s) from the 6th volume.
Lapin Track will produce the OVA with the same staff as the Second OVA episode.
The mangaka Fujita started Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii on pixiv in April 2014 and Ichijinsha published the first volume in April 2015.
It has been serialized in Comic POOL magazine since Ichijinsha and pixiv launched the digital manga magazine in November 2015.
The famous studio “A-1 Pictures” adapted “Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku” manga into an 11-episode television anime that aired during Spring 2018. Two OVA episodes followed:
- The 1st OVA episode was bundled with the special edition of the 7th volume of the manga in March 2019;
- The 2nd OVA episode was released with the special edition of the manga’s 10th volume in February 2020.
A live-action movie adaptation starring Mitsuki Takahata and Kento Yamazaki was revealed in July 2018 and released in theaters in February 2020.
